Conference Finals

I was 2 and 2 last week due to the Jets surprising victory and the Ravens 2nd half collapse. Tomorrow's games has two excellent matchups and with the cold weather both games should be close and somewhat low scoring.
Green Bay 20 Chicago 7 (2). Chicago is solid on both offense and defense but Green Bay has more weapons on offense and dynamic players that create turnovers on defense. As long as their special teams keeps the ball away from Devon Hester they should come out on top.
Steelers 21 Jets 17 (1). Very tough game to pick. The Jets have beaten the two best quarterbacks in the last two weeks. The difference here is that they are playing a team with a much better defense than the Colts or Patriots. Rothlisberger has shown he can beat teams with a great defense and Sanchez hasn't. Jets playoff run ends here

more playoff picks

I went 3 and 1 last week with 8 points. While my opponents John (a.k.a Mr. Slag) and Brad have like their favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys had disappointing seasons, I plan to surge like the Green Bay Packers and pick every remaining playoff game right. If John or Brad do make playoff picks it will be after days of heavy drinking in the hopes that they can wipe out the many bad memories the Cowboys gave them this season.
Here are my picks.
Patriots 35 Jets 10 (4). The Jets talk the talk but won't walk the walk. Mark Sanchez had trouble completing a pass indoors in Indianapolis and now he has to play in the cold in New England. Tom Brady knows how to play in the cold and the Patriots will steamroll the Jets again.
Bears 27 Seahawks 10 (3). Seattle has never put two good games together this whole season and they won't start now. Bears should have no problem as long as Jay Cutler doesn't get stupid.
Packers 21 Falcons 14 (2). The Packers are peaking at the right time with the emergence of running back James Starks. Their defense willl give Matt Ryan problems and take control of the game in the 2nd half.
Ravens 14 Steelers 13 (1). The last time they played the Ravens lost the lead late in the game due to Troy Poloumolu sacking Joe Flacco and causing him to fumble. If the Ravens avoid this and let running back Ray Rice do the bulk of the work on offense they will squeak by.

season finish and playoffs

I ended the season with 155 wins and 89 losses for 1355 points. It's not quite official but I believe I dominated my opponents this year for the regular season. In fairness to John and Brad since they are both big Dallas Cowboy fans they had to make their picks under the influence of anti deppressants.
The playoffs start tomorrow and below are my picks.
Green Bay 30 Philadelphia 20 (4). Packers defense will suffocate an injured Micheal Vick.
Ravens 23 Chiefs 10 (3). Ravens defense will be too much for KC
Colts 24 Jets 20 (2). Manning must have his best game ready.
Seahawks 23 Saints 20 (1). My upset special. Saints are injured at running back at that will hurt them here.

NFL picks for final week of the season

Last week shows some good games and some with no meaning for teams already in the playoffs and some already eliminated.
Atlanta 30 Carolina 10 (16)
Steelers 20 Browns 17 (6)
Detroit 17 Vikings 14 (2). Detroit could make their winning streak 4
KC 21 Raiders 14 (3)
New England 28 Dolphins 7 (14).
Saints 24 Tampa Bay 14 (7). Saints fans should be concerned that Brees is throwing too many interceptions. Their still better than the Bucs.
Jets 14 Bills 10 (5)
Bengals 20 Ravens (1). Don't know why but Bengals have the Ravens number.
SD 21 Broncos 14 (4).
Packers 24 Bears 14 (13). Packers need to win to make the playoffs.
Colts 28 Titans 10 (15). Titans quit on the season a while ago
Eagles 24 Cowboys 21(9). Regardless of outcome this is the most disappointing season the cowboys have ever had.
SF 21 Arizona 14 (8).
Giants 24 Redskins 7 (12). May be time for the Redskins to admit that Shannahan is a bad fit as head coach.
Jaguars 21 Houston 17 (10). Houston may have the worst defense in the NFL
Rams 21 Seahawks 17 (11). The winner makes the playoffs with an 8 and 8 record. Pathetic
