The Superbowl

The superbowl is a only a day away and for cowboy fans and owner Jerry Jones, the disastrous season will have an exclamation point added to it. Two teams that kept the Cowboys from winning more superbowls (the packers in the 60s and the steelers in the 70s) are facing off and Cowboy fans will have to watch one of these teams win another superbowl in Dallas's backyard. I believe this has driven my game picking rivals and cowboy fans John and Brad to the deep end. John has locked himself in his room and been trying to make psychic contact with the souls of deceased Cowboy greats Harvey Martin and Bob Hayes while Brad has shaved his head, had a tattoo of Tom Landry's fedora drawn on his back, and started up daily conversations with trees. The snow and ice of this week has created low turnouts for the week's superbowl parties and Cowboy owner Jerry Jones must be wondering when this nightmare football season will ever end.
The season will end tomorrow in what looks to be a close game. Green Bay has a little more talent and speed but Pittsburgh is the more physical team. The loss of Steeler center Maurkice Pouncey will be a factor and Packer nose guard BJ Naji and linebacker Clay Matthews should have big games. Ben Rothlisberger however is a big agile quarterback that can make plays out of nothing and has superbowl experience as well. Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers is good at scrambling too but this will be his first superbowl and it is uncertain how he will hold up to the pressure along with facing a physical Steeler defense that excels in creating turnovers. If Rodgers is smart he will look at games the Steelers lost to the New England Patriots to see how Tom Brady is able to draw Steelers safety Troy Polomalu out of position. What I fear is that the referees may factor into this game. If you look at past superbowls the Steelers have been in there have been a few too many controversial calls that have gone their way. I am not saying that the Steelers didn't earn those victories or will need the referees help in this one but I wouldn't be surprised if the referees give them a litte help anyway. In end the Steelers physical style of play and Ben Rothlisberger's ability to excel in clutch situations will be a little too much for the Packers to handle.
Final score Pittsburgh 28 Green Bay 24.
Enjoy the game everybody.
