It's week one with some very close match ups and difficult games to pick. I can't believe that I will be picking against the Colts with a confidence level of 16 but no Peyton Manning will equate to no wins for Indianapolis this year.
Houston 30 Colts 14 (16). Manning's neck injury looks worse than expected. More losses will follow.
Chargers 31 Vikings 14 (15). Chargers usually start slow but Donovan Mcnabb is way past his prime.
Cardinals 28 Panthers 7 (14). Kevin Cobb will have a breakout year.
Patriots 27 Dolphins 7 (13). Patriots QB is Tom Brady, Dolphins is Chad Henne. Gross mismatch.
Giants 21 Redskins 13 (12). Giants will struggle but won't lose to a team with Rex Grossman at QB.
KC 24 Bills 17 (11). Matt Cassel will play and the Chiefs are at home.
Jets 20 Cowboys 13 (10). Cowboys are starting two rookie offensive linemen and have a terrible secondary. They will be better this year but not this weekend.
Denver 17 Oakland 14 (9).
Detroit 30 Tampa Bay 20 (8). Matt Stafford is finally healthy. Detroit could finally make it to the playoffs this year if he stays that way.
Titans 20 Jaguars 13 (7). Titans have Matt Hasselbeck and Jags cut their QB today.
Eagles 28 Rams 20 (6). Rams could turn things around but Sam Bradford still has more to learn.
Packers 28 Saints 21 (5). Great way to start the season. Pack at home has a few too many weapons here.
Falcons 21 Bears 17 (4). Jay Cutler now has Roy Williams to throw the ball to. That's trouble.
Browns 23 Bengals 20 (3).
49ers 20 Seahawks 14 (2). Two bad teams with bad quarterbacks. Jim Harbough outcoached Pete Carroll twice when they were coaching in the PAC 10 and he will do it again here.
Baltimore 17 Steelers 13 (1). Another close one between two physical teams.
